The checklist

Before the cleaners
arrive.

To prepare for a house cleaning, leave your entry and lock-up instructions, clear the counters, shelves and tables you want wiped, and get any add-ons ready.

  • Send your entry instructionsEntry, alarm, parking, pet and lock-up instructions can be provided in advance, so you do not need to be home. Be specific: the door, the code, where to park, where the cat hides.
  • Clear the surfaces you want wipedCounters, shelves and tables are wiped when they are clear of clutter. Move the mail, chargers and boxes off the surfaces you want done.
  • Leave out trash bagsTrash is emptied and liners replaced with bags you supply.
  • Get your add-ons readyEach add-on has one thing it needs from you first. The list is below.
  • Tell us about one small extraNeed one small thing done while we are there? Tell us before your appointment and we will do our best to fit it in if time allows.
  • Moving out? Empty the home firstA move-in or move-out clean is built for a home that is empty, or about to be: an empty home shows every surface.

Preparing FAQ

Questions before
the cleaning.

Do I need to be home for my house cleaning?

No. Entry, alarm, parking, pet and lock-up instructions can be provided in advance.

Should I clean before the cleaner comes?

No. Clear the counters, shelves and tables you want wiped, because those are wiped when they are clear of clutter. Condition is a price factor, not a judgment.

Do I need to provide cleaning supplies?

No. Standard supplies and equipment are provided for the service you selected. Leave out trash bags, because trash liners are replaced with bags you supply.

How do I get the oven ready for the inside oven add-on?

Run the oven’s self-clean cycle first. The add-on cleans the oven interior, racks and door.

Does the inside fridge add-on include the freezer?

No. The fridge must be emptied before the cleaning professional arrives, and the freezer is not included.

Can I ask for something extra on the day?

Tell us before your appointment rather than on the day. For one small thing, we will do our best to fit it in if time allows. Bigger jobs, like the inside of the fridge or oven, are add-ons you can pick when you book.

How do I get my rowhome ready?

Tell us where to park and how to get in, pick up loose clutter so surfaces can be cleaned, and keep pets in a safe spot. If you live in a trinity or a walk-up, mention it in your booking notes.

What should I tell the front desk in my building?

Tell the desk you have a cleaning booked. Then add the entrance, the floor and any building rules for service visits to your booking notes.

What if I notice something was missed?

If it was in your booked scope, walk through before the cleaner leaves and tell us, so it can be fixed on the spot. If you notice it later, contact us within 24 hours and we will send a cleaner back to re-clean it at no charge, or take care of it at your next scheduled cleaning.
