Homes in the Northwest

Hills, stone
and stairs.

Northwest homes are a real mix: rowhomes, twins, stone singles and apartment buildings. Much of it went up before 1940.

01
Stone houses

Stone buildings typify Chestnut Hill and West Mount Airy, much of it local Wissahickon schist. Big old houses take time: book the whole home.

02
Hillside rows

Manayunk’s rowhomes once housed mill workers, and the town climbs the hill above the river. Expect steps out front.

03
Public stairs

Most of the public staircases the city maintains are in Roxborough and Manayunk. If there are steps between the street and your door, tell us.

04
Mill lofts

Since the 1990s, old factories and mills have become loft apartments. Add the building’s rules to your booking notes.

Parking + access

Steep streets,
business lots.

Near Main Street and Germantown Avenue, it’s lots and meters.
Up the hill, tell us about your steps.

Manayunk

Metered parking in Manayunk is limited, but there are lots. If you have a pass or a spot the cleaners can use, tell us.

Chestnut Hill

Chestnut Hill has public lots on Germantown Avenue and nearby side streets, plus metered street parking along the Avenue.

Hills + steps

Manayunk’s dense, steep blocks were built before the car. Tell us about any steps up to your door and the closest legal spot.

Is my home in Manayunk, Roxborough or Wissahickon?

The lines between them blur and aren’t official. We clean all three, plus East Falls, Andorra, Germantown, Mount Airy and Chestnut Hill, and each of those names is listed above with its ZIPs. Book with your street address, and the booking form takes care of the rest.

Do you clean big stone houses?

Yes. Stone buildings typify Chestnut Hill and West Mount Airy, and a big old house takes more time than a rowhome. Tell us how many floors and rooms you want cleaned and anything delicate. For a first visit, a deep clean is the place to start.

Is there parking near Main Street or Germantown Avenue?

Yes, mostly in lots. Manayunk has limited metered spots plus parking lots, and Chestnut Hill has public lots on Germantown Avenue and the side streets near it. Away from the main streets, tell us in your booking notes where the cleaners can park.
