Brick houses sit near the river and stone ones climb the hill. Rowhomes are common, and many homes are in large apartment buildings.
Midvale Avenue, W. Penn Street and W. Queen Lane hold 210 Tudor Revival houses from 1925 to 1931. Stone and wood fronts, and usually several floors.
Higher up, the houses turn to stone. Older homes, most built before 1960, reward a deep clean of the woodwork and windowsills.
East Falls also has mid-century modern houses. Lots of glass and open rooms: list the big windows and any finishes that need special care.
More than half the homes here are rented. Living in an apartment building? Add the entry, elevator and parking rules to your notes.

For the Tudor rows and older stone houses, a full reset of every floor, trim to tile.

Underwater. The neighborhood is named for the Falls of Schuylkill, which are still there but hidden since the Fairmount Water Works and dam submerged them in 1812. Above them, the riverside trails run along Kelly Drive, Martin Luther King Drive and the Falls Bridge. Our cleaners work every street back from the river.
Yes. The 210 Tudor Revival houses on Midvale Avenue, W. Penn Street and W. Queen Lane have been on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places since 2009. Tell us how many floors you want cleaned, and flag any original windows or woodwork in your booking notes so the team treats them gently.
East Falls sits between Germantown, Wissahickon Valley Park and Allegheny West, and the historical society treats Allegheny Avenue as its southern edge. There’s no official line, so don’t worry about the name. Book with your street address, and the booking form places you whichever side of the line you’re on.
Tell us in your booking notes. There’s public parking around the neighborhood, including a lot at 4100 Ridge Avenue. If your street is Henry Avenue or Kelly Drive, remember both are snow emergency routes, so in a declared snow emergency we’ll need another spot. A driveway or a side street nearby works well.
