Homes in Cheltenham

Stone, Victorian
and apartments.

Cheltenham has plenty of apartments for a Montgomery County town, and much of its housing is older stock. Still, most homes here are owner-occupied.

01
Wyncote’s district

Wyncote’s National Register district mixes Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival and Queen Anne houses, and Wyncote has stone Colonial Revivals too. Original trim and woodwork take careful hands, so we book the time for it.

02
Elkins Park’s big houses

Elkins Park still has Gilded Age mansions like Lynnewood Hall and a real spread of architectural styles. A big house is a long visit: tell us the rooms and floors.

03
Old La Mott

La Mott’s Camptown district, near Penrose and Cheltenham Avenues, lists Italianate and Gothic Revival buildings. If you live in one, say how many floors you want cleaned.

04
Apartment buildings

Apartments are more common here than in most of the county. Moving out of one? Put the elevator and entry rules in your booking notes.

Parking + access

Permit streets
and snow routes.

Some local streets are permit-parking streets.
In a snow emergency, the main roads must be clear.

Permit streets

Residential permits cover indicated local streets. If yours is one, tell us where the cleaners can legally park, or offer your driveway.

Lots and side streets

Is there a driveway, a lot or a side street without a permit rule nearby? Put it in your booking notes so the cleaners park once and stay.

Snow emergencies

When one is declared, parked cars must come off routes such as Easton Road, Old York Road and Greenwood Avenue. Live on one? Tell us where else to park.

Local facts on this page: U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020-2024, Cheltenham Township School District, National Park Service, Wikipedia, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Glenside Local, SEPTA, Jenkintown Borough.

Which parts of Cheltenham Township do you clean?

All of it. The township takes in Glenside, Laverock, Edge Hill, Wyncote, Cedarbrook, Chelten Hills, La Mott, Elkins Park, Melrose Park and Cheltenham Village. Your mail may carry any of those names instead of Cheltenham. Book with your street address and we’ll handle the rest, whichever name is on the envelope.

Is Glenside in Cheltenham or Abington?

Both. Glenside is one of Cheltenham’s communities, but parts of Glenside, and of Elkins Park, sit over the line in Abington Township. We clean on both sides, so you don’t need to know which township your house falls in. Just give us the street address when you book.

Where do the cleaners park on a permit street?

Tell us in your booking notes. Cheltenham issues residential permits for indicated local streets. If you have a driveway, say the cleaners can use it. If not, point us to the nearest spot without a permit rule, or to a nearby lot, and tell us how long a visit you’ve booked.

Do you clean the historic houses in Wyncote and La Mott?

Yes. Cheltenham has two districts on the National Register of Historic Places, one in Wyncote and one in La Mott. For a house like that, tell us the number of floors and anything fragile when you book. A deep cleaning is the best first visit, then a recurring schedule if you want one.

Do you clean apartments near the train stations?

Yes. Cheltenham has plenty of apartments compared with other Montgomery County towns, and trains stop at stations named for Glenside, Wyncote, Elkins Park and Melrose Park. Add your building’s entry, elevator and parking rules to your booking notes. Move-out cleaning suits an empty unit; a recurring visit suits the one you live in.
